Hybrid Cleaning Operative / Supervisor - Manchester M1

PCG Professional Cleaning Group is looking for a reliable, hardworking and confident individual to join our established team at Genting Casino in a Hybrid Cleaning Operative / Supervisor role.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is happy to work as a Cleaning Operative as part of the team but is also capable of taking on additional responsibility and stepping into the Supervisor role when required at an increased rate of £13.71 per hour.

The successful applicant will receive full training in both the Cleaning Operative and Supervisor aspects of the position.

Genting Casino is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation and is open 364 days per year, closing only on Christmas Day. Applicants must therefore be flexible and understand that weekends and Bank Holidays form part of the normal working rota.

Working Hours & Rota

• 7:30am – 11:30am

• 4 hours per standard shift

• 20 contracted hours per week

• 5 days on / 2 days off

• Operates across a 7-day rotational rota

• Weekend working is essential

• Bank Holidays are normal working days and must be worked when they fall on your scheduled rota

• 28 days annual holiday entitlement, with 1 day reserved for the Christmas Day shutdown

• Additional hours and overtime will be available/required to assist with staff holidays, sickness and Supervisor cover

Please note

Due to the nature of this position and the contract, this role is not suitable for applicants who are only available Monday to Friday.

The Hybrid Role

Your normal duties will involve working as part of our established cleaning team, maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation expected throughout the casino.

However, you will also be trained to act as an on-site Supervisor and will be expected to step into the Supervisor role when required, including during periods of Supervisor sickness, annual leave or other absence.

When working as a Cleaning Operative, you will report to the on-site Supervisor.

When carrying out the Supervisor role, you will take responsibility for helping to ensure that the cleaning operation runs effectively and that the team completes its duties safely and to the required standard.

Cleaning Operative Responsibilities

Duties will include

• General and detailed cleaning throughout designated areas of the casino

• Cleaning washrooms and public areas

• Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation

• Following cleaning schedules and Supervisor instructions

• Responding to additional cleaning requirements as they arise

• Working effectively as part of the wider cleaning team

• Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly

Supervisor Responsibilities

When acting as Supervisor, responsibilities will include

• Leading and supporting the on-site cleaning team

• Allocating and adjusting cleaning duties where required

• Ensuring cleaning schedules and required tasks are completed

• Checking cleaning standards and addressing any areas that require further attention

• Communicating clearly with members of the cleaning team

• Responding appropriately to changing priorities within the casino

• Ensuring staff follow PCG procedures and health & safety requirements

• Reporting operational, staffing or cleaning-standard issues to PCG management

• Acting as a reliable point of contact for the cleaning team while supervising the shift

• Leading by example and maintaining professional standards at all times
