Would you like to lead a team to enhance the lives of young adults with additional needs?
We have an opportunity to join our team at our day centre, providing and support for young adults with disabilities/ learning difficulties/ challenging behaviour, and to support the Management.
Duties of a Senior Support Worker will include assisting the manager in supervisory responsibilities within the team, creating timetables of activities/ outings for the young adults in our care, personal care and maintaining the welfare of the young people alongside having understanding and commitment that this care is provided in line with the legislation, policy and ethos as required by Eco Wings.
Ideally you will have NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be wiling to complete this) or above and experience in a supervisory role within social care.
Personal and Social Care
1. Assist and provide personal care to any of the young people.
2. Assist the young people when eating their lunch/ food/ drinks
3. Be aware of all young adults who require medication.
4. Administer routine and emergency medication as and when required. (Once training has been completed)
5. Tube Feeding (Once training has been completed)
6. Ensure the centre is cleaned and kept to a good standard, completing all cleaning that is required each day. Ensure rooms are clean and tidy at the end of each day.
7. Setting the rooms up for activities.
8. To cover Team Leaders annual leave or sickness.
9. To help support/ cover clubs alongside the Team Leaders.
10. To ensure young people’s bags are checked for medication and it is signed in/ out according to policy.
11. Assist the young people in activities.
12. Assist the young people in the preparation on meals and drinks.
Communicate with the young people in an effective manner according to their needs.
13. Assist and support young people to use their specific equipment and physiotherapy/ other plans
Administrative duties
1. Prepare and present displays of young people’s work
2. Support in photocopying and other tasks in order to support sessions.
3. Undertake other duties from time to time as the manager required.
4. Assist Team Leader in planning sessions for each term and holiday.
6. Ensure communication books are completed correctly at the end of the day and go home with the young person.
7. Ensure all logs/ Reports are on the Cloud before you leave at the end of the day.
