About this role

Year 5 Class Teaching Assistant : 18.75 hours (5 mornings from 8:45 to 12:30pm) There are an additional 8 hours in the afternoons to support a child. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and energetic person with proven skills who can provide support for children and the class teacher. They will need to be able to plan and lead intervention groups.This post will suit candidates who are committed to working positively in order to provide the best learning opportunities for pupils and who are committed to developing themselves professionally. They will have excellent inter personal and communication skills and may have previous experience of working with children with special educational needs.

Start date

Monday 5th October 2026 or asap to the start date

Hours

18 Hours 45 Minutes per week, term time only (8.45am – 12.30pm every morning from Monday to Friday) plus an additional 8 hours

Salary

Hay 10 ( FTE £26,824) This is a fixed term contract for a year and may be extended. The current postholder also is a lunchtime leader and this post is available to for 2 hours and 30 mins at Hay 13. Please indicate in your application if you would be interested in this role at Christ the King.

• Have excellent communication, organisational and ICT skills

• Have a calm, inclusive and consistent approach

• Have a supporting and encouraging manner with young children and an ability to inspire trust and to motivate the children to be the best they can be.• Have the ability to be flexible and to work as part of a team

• Be required to work closely with the Class Teacher

• Be able to use their initiative and think on their feet to support all children in the classroom.
