Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Main Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Practice Nursing Team and will undertake a range of clinical duties, including: Phlebotomy (taking blood samples) Blood pressure monitoring Height, weight and BMI measurements New patient health checks NHS Health Checks ECG recordings Urinalysis Smoking cessation and health promotion advice Assisting with vaccination and immunisation programmes Wound care and dressing clinics (where trained and competent) Chaperoning duties Stock management and ordering of clinical supplies Processing and preparing specimens for collection Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web Preparing and maintaining clinical rooms and equipment Supporting infection prevention and control procedures
