This job puts good food on the table.
As a Food Service Assistant at Sodexo in Royal Stoke Hospital, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day. What you’ll do
- Prepare and serve food and retail products in line with company standards, ensuring quality and consistency at all times.
- Deliver excellent customer service, promoting products and supporting sales growth through positive guest interactions.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, allergen awareness, stock rotation, and storage procedures to minimise waste and ensure compliance.
- Operate tills accurately, process transactions, and ensure all revenue is correctly recorded and accounted for.
- Support a safe, clean, and professional working environment by adhering to hygiene standards, training requirements, and company policies.
What you bring
- Previous experience in food preparation, catering, hospitality, or retail environments.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a busy, fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills with good literacy and numeracy.
- A positive, self-motivated team player who works well under pressure and is eager to learn.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification desirable, with a commitment to maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards
