Department of Fashion and Textiles is the school’s largest department, offering design, leadership & strategy, and marketing education, at undergraduate, taught-postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The department supports one of the largest international student communities in Europe, studying fashion leadership, marketing, management, and strategy programmes, whilst sustaining a long-held reputation for the nurturing of high-level design practice and craft-based skills.
About the role
This role is committed to preserving and enhancing our growing national and international reputation in Textiles, covering both traditional and experimental, sustainable and contemporary thinking in printed textiles, which will contribute to the delivery of enhanced research-led, employment-relevant education. This will extend the reach and impact of our educational practice.
About You
You are an experienced individual in Textile Design, which could include research, employment, practice and studio practice. You will contribute to the application of printed textile design across the department of Fashion and Textiles and to the development of innovative learning and teaching approaches while working alongside a talented group of educators and researchers.
You will play a vital role in shaping the future of Textile Design education. Your teaching will be both studio and lecture-based and will encompass relevant critical theory and practice, with a focus on developing future designers capable of addressing the challenges of a more ethical and sustainable industry.

Experimental printed textile design
Mixed media textiles

EDI in Textile Design
Digital skills for printed textiles
