An exciting opportunity to enhance your career is available - join our integrated front door therapy team in the Emergency Department (ED) at Charing Cross Hospital.

We are seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Our team consists of occupational therapists and physiotherapists; we are an interdisciplinary team, which encourages skill sharing to empower therapists to be holistic and autonomous practitioners, whilst also appreciating profession specific competencies.

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care.
  • To undertake a comprehensive assessment and re-assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentation for a designated caseload to establish clients' physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychological and social functioning.
  • To communicate effectively, using a range of verbal and non-verbal skills, with patients and carers/family to motivate, engage to participate in therapy and to ensure an understanding of their condition.
  • To advise and support patients and carers; particularly where motivation and persuasion are required.
  • To plan and prioritise own caseload independently on a day-to-day basis to ensure patients are appropriately seen, in conjunction with the priorities of the team and to give assistance to other team members as required.
  • To critically appraise published research and use results to inform practice.
  • To take a delegated active role in the training of all MDT staff, as appropriate.
