A Rare Opportunity
Are you an experienced SEN practitioner ready to leave your mark on a brand-new provision?
In September 2025, we launched a state-of-the-art secondary school in Chaldon, specifically designed for students (ages 11-16) with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs. We are seeking a high-calibre History & Geography Teacher who understands that for neurodivergent learners, the humanities are not just subjects-they are windows into understanding the world and their place within it.
The Role
Impact & Innovation
As a founding member of our academic team, you won't just be following a scheme of work; you will be instrumental in adapting the National Curriculum to meet the complex profiles of our students.
-
Autism-Led Pedagogy
Deliver high-quality learning tailored to students who require a non-confrontational, sensory-aware approach.
-
Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration
Work at the intersection of education and therapy, collaborating daily with our supernumerary clinical team to ensure every EHCP target is met.
-
Curriculum Development
Lead the Humanities offering by creating short, medium, and long-term plans that balance academic challenge with emotional regulation.
-
Mentorship & Growth
Contribute your expertise to a growing team as we expand across our Chaldon and Caterham sites.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a specialist who moves beyond "standard" differentiation.
You should possess
-
Proven SEN Expertise
Extensive experience working with students with Autism, PDA profiles, or complex SEMH needs.
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
Essential for the £5,000 welcome bonus.
-
A Therapeutic Mindset
The ability to maintain pace and motivation in the classroom while remaining flexible to the fluctuating sensory needs of your students.
-
Founding Spirit
The resilience and "can-do" attitude required to launch a new school and establish a positive, inclusive culture from day one.
Why Join Us?
We offer more than just a competitive salary. This is a chance to move away from the constraints of large-scale mainstream settings and join a model defined by small classes, high staff-to-student ratios, and clinical support.
"We give students every opportunity to achieve. We need teachers who believe that no ceiling should be placed on a child's potential."
