About this role

We’re on the lookout for a Highly Specialised Physiotherapist to join our vibrant team of 60 professionals, which includes 13 advanced physiotherapy practitioners and 3 consultant physiotherapists. You’ll play a pivotal role in outpatient musculoskeletal service all while serving our diverse local community. We have a 1.0 WTE post available.

In this role, you’ll gain invaluable experience managing referrals from GPs and Consultants

across orthopaedics, rheumatology, neurosurgery, hands, and women’s health, whilst actively participating in our outpatient clinics.

Here’s what you can expect

Conducting specialised musculoskeletal assessments and devising comprehensive treatment plans.

Guiding and mentoring qualified physiotherapists, students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Engaging in evidence-based projects, departmental research, and quality audits.

Acting as a physiotherapy team leader in operational management.

Our services are spread across three main sites: St George’s Hospital in Tooting, St John’s Therapy Centre in Clapham Junction, and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton, with additional outreach into the community

Patient Care

o Undertake the highly specialist assessment of patients as an autonomous

practitioner, including those with highly complex presentations.

o Manage a diverse caseload of patients presenting with a range of

musculoskeletal conditions, reflecting the local demographic of Wandsworth.

o Signpost or refer patients to other services or teams as indicated.

o Supervise and support rotational Band 6 physiotherapists, pre-registration physiotherapy students, and work experience students.

Service Delivery

o Deliver physiotherapy services at St George’s Hospital Tooting, St John’s Therapy

Centre Clapham Junction, and Queen Mary’s Hospital Roehampton, with outreach into the community.

Professional Development

o Engage in regular in-service training programs covering a variety of topics to develop into a well-rounded clinician.

o Participate in clinical supervision and joint clinics led by an Advanced

Physiotherapy Practitioner.

o Contribute to departmental service improvement projects and research initiatives
