About this role
To assist practitioner psychologists in the delivery of a specialist applied psychology service in an eating disorders day service including guided self-help and group work.
•To provide clinical work as required by the service, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
•To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
•To work following clinical guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, while closely supervised and regularly seeking help from clinical/professional supervisor or manager.
•To provide meal support to service users.
To assist the team with meal support and meal modelling with patients and supporting specific patients with 1:1 support via behavioural experiments.
To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects to inform the service, Psychologist and others in the development of Trust psychology and other services, training provision and research activities.
To receive regular clinical and professional supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines
To ensure that the post-holder has sufficient resources by estimating future needs and requesting supplies as needed.
Day Services are delivered from the Maudsley Eating Disorders Outpatients unit. The service is home to the FREED project (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) and continues to grow, providing evidence-based models, and is highly active in research.

To provide psychological assessments for clients in the Eating Disorders Day Service under the close supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
•To provide protocol based individual psychological interventions for clients in the Eating Disorders Day Service including guided self-help, CREST and CRT.
•To arrange, schedule and provide protocol-based group psychological interventions for clients in the Eating Disorders Day Service.
•To assist the psychologists in the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials.
