SEN Teacher – Upper Key Stage 2 – Full Time – Hertfordshire

Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a full-time teaching position in Hertfordshire? Would you like to teach an Upper Key Stage 2 class in a specialist setting where the curriculum is carefully adapted around individual pupils’ needs?

We are recruiting a full-time SEN Teacher for an Upper Key Stage 2 class at our partner special school in East Hertfordshire. The school supports children and young people aged 2–19 with severe learning difficulties (SLD), including pupils who may have multiple additional needs.

The Role

• Full-time SEN Teacher
• Upper Key Stage 2 class
• Specialist SEND school in East Hertfordshire
• Teaching pupils with severe learning difficulties and potentially multiple additional needs
• Planning and delivering learning appropriate to pupils’ individual needs
• Working within a specialist school where communication and personalised learning are central to the curriculum
• SEN/specialist setting experience is essential for the school’s current class teacher positions

• Community special school for pupils aged 2–19
• Specialist provision for pupils with severe learning difficulties
• Approximately 194 pupils, creating a substantial specialist community with expertise across a wide age range
• The school highlights its range of specialist resources and facilities and its close relationships with families and associated professionals
• Communication is at the heart of the school’s work, with teaching and curriculum approaches tailored closely to individual pupils
• Ofsted Outstanding – following its April 2024 inspection, Ofsted reported that pupils make exceptional progress and highlighted the expertise of staff in delivering bespoke curricula according to pupils’ needs

Can You Offer

• QTS and appropriate classroom teaching experience
• Experience of working within an SEN or specialist setting
• An understanding of teaching pupils with severe and/or complex learning needs
• The ability to adapt teaching and learning around individual pupils
• A strong commitment to the Upper Key Stage 2 class
• A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and other professionals
