About this role

The Deteriorating Patient Education Lead will provide operational and professional leadership for deteriorating patient and resuscitation education across the Trust, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and improved outcomes for acutely unwell patients. The post holder will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of education programmes, simulation training, audits and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with national guidance and Trust priorities. They will contribute to policy development, incident reviews, service development and the implementation of patient safety initiatives. The role works closely with the Associate Director for the Deteriorating Patient, Deteriorating Patient Lead, senior nurses, consultants, resident doctors, allied health professionals, learning and development teams, divisional leaders and corporate teams to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient deterioration and resuscitation practice across all Trust sites. Core hours are predominantly Monday to Friday, during normal business hours. However, flexibility is required to support training delivery, simulation programmes, service demands and organisational priorities across Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital and St Albans City Hospital.
