An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Neonatal Unit Team at Wexham Park Hospital as a Unit Secretary.

This varied and rewarding role involves providing comprehensive clerical and secretarial support to the Neonatal Unit, including delivering a professional and welcoming reception service for patients, families, and staff.

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a busy healthcare environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive and compassionate team within a vital hospital service.

Please note

this role is for 22.5 hours per week, working Friday to Sunday.

  • To provide full Clerical and Secretarial support to the Unit.
  • To provide a reception service for the Neonatal Unit.
  • To coordinate data for the National Neonatal Database (Badgernet).

Admit, discharge and transfer patients on the hospital computer systems – EPIC, Badgernet, security tagging system and the Admission Book.

  • Prepare notes for patients, collate as necessary.
  • Ensure EPIC and Badgernet is up to date to enable data and requested reports to be accurate. Inputting medical data, checking and validating.
  • Input discharge summaries into the EPIC and send out to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is uploaded into the patient’s file on EPIC.
  • Arrange outpatient appointments as requested.
