About this role
The successful candidates will undertake care for inpatients and some outpatients in their respective specialities. The majority of the posts are in General and Acute Medicine with speciality interests. We are a busy, Central London, Teaching Hospital and the successful candidates will be exposed to a wide variety of patients in a well-supported and safe clinical environment; they will have support to learn the necessary procedures and skills for the posts, but also to develop their portfolios for their future career. Most posts come with an out-of-hours commitment, and in general and acute medicine, you will provide care for emergencies, unscheduled patients and ambulatory care on the acute Medical Take. The successful doctors will work as part of a large integrated team across medicine and the specialities, but in particular with their closer team in the day-to-day running of their wards/ clinical services. They will be expected and supported to develop their whole professional portfolio, and this includes exposure to risk and performance management, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement, and, where relevant, to contribute to research. We encourage staff to present their work locally, nationally and internationally, and the post-holder will be supported by paid study leave and a study leave budget by agreement.
