About the Role

As our Community Safety Specialist, you’ll be a key contact for anti-social behaviour case management, working directly with customers, colleagues and partners to respond to reports of ASB, hate crime, domestic abuse and tenancy breaches. You’ll manage risk, gather and assess evidence, use proportionate legal and non-legal remedies, and help sustain tenancies while contributing to safer, thriving communities across Cheshire.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage a varied caseload and take the lead in resolving complex community safety issues.

This will include

• Responding to reports of anti-social behaviour, hate crime, domestic abuse and tenancy breaches.
• Developing action plans with customers, managing risk and harm, and supporting witnesses and victims sensitively.
• Investigating reports, scrutinising evidence and maintaining clear case records within the ASB case management system.
• Preparing strong evidential case files, including written statements suitable for court.
• Taking proportionate legal action where needed, including injunctions and possession proceedings, and attending court where required.
• Building strong relationships with partners including Police, Local Authorities, Health, Probation and other housing providers.
• Supporting visible community safety activity, including days of action, to help build trust and confidence in our neighbourhoods.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who can bring confidence, resilience and sound judgement to complex situations.

You’ll have

• Experience of managing challenging cases, conflict or aggression in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and use initiative.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and written skills, including the ability to prepare clear case records and reports.
• The ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve effective outcomes.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy or housing management, including the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and sector best practice.
• Strong IT skills, English language to GCSE standard or equivalent, and a full driving licence with access to a car.
