Deputy Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover)

Up to £35,300 per annum | 40 hours per week

This maternity cover role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to play a key role in supporting the leadership team, maintaining high standards across the setting, and helping to create a positive and inspiring environment for both children and staff.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager – essential
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
  • A nurturing and child-focused approach to early years care
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support staff and build positive relationships with families
  • Passion for outdoor learning and child development

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Helping to lead and motivate the staff team to maintain high standards of care and education
  • Ensuring the delivery of engaging learning experiences in line with EYFS
  • Supporting staff development and maintaining a positive team culture
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Supporting safeguarding, compliance, and operational standards
  • Promoting outdoor learning opportunities, including forest school activities
