We have an exciting opportunity for a band6SLT to join our education service. The role will includesupporting autistic children and young peopleas part of the on-site teamwithin a special school settingalongside work in the mainstreamschoolsteam.

Providing a specialist service to children attending mainstream and special schools working closely with parents/carers and staff to enable children to develop their speech, language and communication skills and to access the curriculum.

Assess the needs, develop and implement specialist SLT treatment to children referred to the SLT Education service.

Provide advice regarding the management and care of children with speech, language and communication difficulties.

Join us if you want to

  • Deliver specialist interventions to children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Work with the onsite therapies team to embed good universal and targeted level practise within a special school setting
  • Work jointly with parents, class teams and other professionals. Develop a shared understanding of each child’s speech, language and communication needs and how these can be supported
  • Refine your skills delivering a range of interventions (including AAC)

Access 1

1 & peer group supervision sessions and a regular in-house training programme to develop clinical and supervision skills.

  • Access Joint working and second opinions from clinical specialists within the service
  • Work within innovative, motivated and well-established teams, in a supportive and progressive environment
