We are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded specialist all-through Autism school in Stratford to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a nurturing and specialist setting that supports autistic children and young people in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment. The school is committed to helping every pupil thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, including students who are non-verbal or pre-verbal.
With small class sizes of approximately 5-10 pupils and strong in-class support from dedicated teaching assistants, the school offers a collaborative environment where meaningful relationships can be built and personalised support can truly make an impact.
Whether you are an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant or bring transferable skills from care, youth work, support work, psychology, or a related field, this role offers outstanding training, support, and long-term career development within specialist education.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support autistic pupils throughout the school day across a range of learning activities

Provide tailored 1
1 and small-group support based on individual needs
- Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Support students who are non-verbal or pre-verbal using communication approaches such as PECS, visual aids, and structured support strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and senior staff to implement personalised learning plans
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
- Assist with sensory-based activities and therapeutic approaches to learning
- Help maintain a calm, positive, and structured classroom environment
- Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and enrichment activities
- Contribute to observations and pupil progress discussions with the wider team
