Our client, a renowned educational institution located in Stratford, Greater London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of our inclusive learning environment, working closely with our teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people, helping them to reach their full potential and thrive in a supportive and nurturing setting.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, learning disabilities, and physical or sensory impairments.
Your duties will include
- Assisting students with academic tasks, such as reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials and resources to meet their individual needs.
- Implementing and monitoring personalised learning plans, tracking progress, and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Offering emotional and social support to students, helping them to develop their confidence, communication skills, and independence.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based interventions and strategies.
- Participating in educational visits, extracurricular activities, and other school-related events to support student engagement and inclusion.
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure the effective monitoring and review of student progress.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a passion for working with children and young people, as well as a deep understanding of special educational needs and inclusion. You should have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or a related role, with a proven track record of providing high-quality support to students with diverse learning needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be required to work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students. You should also be adaptable, patient, and able to think creatively to overcome challenges and find innovative solutions.
