About the role and school
We are seeking a SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Walthamstow from September on a one-year fixed term basis. This SEN Teacher role involves working primarily with secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.
The school has a strong reputation for inclusive practice, personalised learning and excellent pastoral support. The SEN Teacher will join a highly supportive multidisciplinary team focused on helping pupils achieve both academically and socially within a structured and nurturing environment.
This SEN Teacher role is ideal for an experienced practitioner with a strong SEN background who is confident differentiating learning, managing behaviour positively and supporting pupils with complex needs.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and differentiated learning as a SEN Teacher
Support secondary-aged pupils with ASD and additional needs
Plan and adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and parents
Track and assess pupil progress effectively
Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications/Experience
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) essential
· Previous experience working as a SEN Teacher essential
· Strong understanding of Autism and complex needs desirable
· Excellent behaviour management and differentiation skills
· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
· Right to work in the UK
