We are seeking an Ad-hoc SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Newham from September. This Ad-hoc SEN Teaching Assistant role offers excellent flexibility, allowing candidates to pick their own working days while supporting pupils with additional needs within a specialist SEND provision.
The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and pastoral support, with a dedicated SEN team and structured support systems in place. The Ad-hoc SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils with ASD, communication needs and additional learning needs.
This Ad-hoc SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for experienced SEN support staff, graduates considering teaching, or candidates seeking flexible work in education.
Job Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEN within a specialist provision
Provide 1
1 and small group intervention support
Assist with behaviour regulation and engagement
Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
Support learning activities and classroom routines
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications/Experience
· Experience supporting children with SEN desirable
· Understanding of ASD and additional needs advantageous
· Strong communication and behaviour support skills
· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service (or willing to obtain)
· Right to work in the UK
