Experimentation Engineer
This role requires on-site presence at Asda House in Leeds three days per week. We’re really looking forward to having you around!
Building and running experiments that improve customer experience and performance.
This is a hands-on role where you will turn ideas into live experiments, working in a small experimentation team with an optimisation manager, alongside product, design, and research, primarily supporting Asda Groceries.
You’ll focus on improving key customer journeys within Asda Groceries, helping to make the experience simpler, faster, and more effective for customers.
You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, research, and business teams to test ideas, generate insight, and deliver measurable improvements.
At Asda, we serve millions of customers every week, online, in-app, and in-store. Alongside that, George is one of the UK’s leading fashion brands, blending style, quality and value.
We’re on a mission to transform how customers shop, browse, and experience Asda and George digitally, and experimentation is central to how we improve both customer experience and commercial performance.
We’ve recently completed modernising our digital platforms, and our focus now is on improving the quality of the experience through test and learn.
We’re building a strong experimentation capability to help us move faster, validate ideas, and deliver measurable improvements. If you’re motivated by solving problems, working at pace, and seeing your work drive real outcomes, this is your chance.
What you’ll do
- Translate test plans into robust, production-ready experiments
- Build and run A/B and multivariate tests using experimentation platforms, ideally Dynamic Yield
- Ensure high-quality delivery through thorough QA across browsers and devices
- Apply a customer-first mindset while improving commercial performance
- Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to bring experiments to life
- Collaborate with design and product teams to align experimentation with customer experience goals
- Analyse results and identify clear next steps to drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to improving experimentation standards, processes, and ways of working
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in online experimentation, strong interest in test-and-learn approaches
- Experience with experimentation platforms such as Dynamic Yield, Optimizely, Monetate, or similar
- Strong front-end skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to implement and validate changes in live environments
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to QA
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to interpret experiment results and translate them into clear recommendations
- Proactive and adaptable, comfortable taking ownership and working across different problems without close direction
This position is open to flexible working / job share / part-time working.
