About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with current legislation, conducting audits and risk assessments, and supporting managers and employees with health and safety best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
Deliver health and safety inductions and training to employees.
Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and external stakeholders as required.
Support managers in implementing safe working practices across all departments.
Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer, Advisor, or similar position.
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
Experience within manufacturing, construction, logistics, facilities management, or a related sector.
NEBOSH Diploma or higher-level Health & Safety qualification.
Experience with ISO 45001 standards.
