Role information

  • Lead construction teams on a major aviation infrastructure project.
  • Manage civil construction activities in a live operational environment.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and project controls teams.
  • Review constructability, logistics, sequencing, and temporary works strategies.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality, cost, and programme delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and quality standards.
  • Support commissioning, project handover, and close-out activities.
  • Mentor and supervise Field Engineers and construction personnel.
  • Resolve on-site technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline - or equivalent professional experience
  • Significant experience as a Construction Manager, Senior Field Engineer, or similar on major civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering projects in live operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, and constructability.
  • Excellent understanding of HSE and quality management practices.
  • Experience managing contractors, project schedules, costs, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent.
  • Aviation, airfield, or major transport infrastructure experience.
  • Knowledge of UK CDM Regulations.
  • Experience administering NEC contracts.
  • Experience delivering brownfield projects in live environments.
