About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
Construction & Landscaping Supervisor to join an established team, based in
St Albans and overseeing projects across the
South East of England.
This is a predominantly
construction-focused supervisory role, with responsibility for coordinating site teams, subcontractors and day-to-day works across a variety of projects. The role will also involve overseeing
hard and soft landscaping works, so experience within the landscaping sector would be highly advantageous.
We are looking for someone who is confident managing people and site operations, understands construction processes and documentation, and can ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
•
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across multiple sites.
•
Manage site operatives, subcontractors and external contractors.
•
Oversee groundworks, construction and hard landscaping activities.
•
Coordinate elements of soft landscaping, including planting, turfing, seeding and general external works.
•
Ensure works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and project programmes.
•
Monitor site progress, quality and productivity.
•
Ensure all health & safety procedures and site requirements are followed.
•
Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings and inductions where required.
•
Ensure RAMS are understood and followed by all site personnel.
•
Coordinate labour, materials, plant, equipment and deliveries.
•
Liaise with project managers, clients, contractors and suppliers.
•
Complete site documentation, progress reports and other relevant paperwork.
•
Identify and resolve site issues efficiently.
•
Monitor project timelines and ensure works remain on programme.
•
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and site organisation.
•
Support the successful delivery of projects from start through to completion.
Requirements
•
5-10+ years' experience within construction, landscaping, groundworks or a related sector.
•
Proven experience supervising construction/site-based teams.
•
SSSTS and SMSTS qualifications - essential.
•
Strong understanding of construction health & safety procedures.
•
Experience with
RAMS, site documentation and project coordination.
•
Good knowledge of construction methods and site operations.
•
Experience in hard landscaping and external works.
•
Some experience within
soft landscaping would be advantageous.
•
Strong leadership and communication skills.
•
Ability to manage multiple teams and subcontractors.
•
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
•
Full UK driving licence preferred.
•
CSCS and other relevant construction qualifications would be advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident
Construction Supervisor / Site Supervisor / Contracts Supervisor who is comfortable working across multiple sites.
You will have a strong construction background, excellent knowledge of site safety and documentation, and the ability to lead teams effectively. Experience in
landscaping, groundworks or external works will be a strong advantage.
