We're looking for a Site Manager to join our HMP Glasgow - Internals team based in HMP Glasgow - Internals.

Location

HMP Glasgow - Internals, Northeast of Glasgow

Hours

45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Construction has been appointed to deliver one of Scotland's largest ever construction projects. HMP Glasgow will provide a safe, secure, energy efficient custodial facility to house 2000 inmates and staff. This £750 million project will replace Glasgow's ageing Barlinnie prison with a rehabilitation focussed modern facility, utilising cutting edge Modern Methods of Construction. As a Site Manager, you'll be involved in large scale internals work across multiple buildings, ensuring safe and timely on site delivery through effective management of the supply chain.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Site Manager, you'll be working within the HMP Glasgow - Internals team, supporting them in delivering safe, high-quality construction activities on site. Your day to day will include:

-Managing and directing sub-contractor partners to safely deliver internals works including MEP integrations

-Checking work carried out by sub-contractors to assess delivery in line with programme, design drawings and quality standards

-Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements from sub-contractors to ensure working methods are safe and appropriate

-Co-ordinating site logistics, movement of plant and labour to, from and around site whilst maintaining safety

-Creating, logging and filing site reports and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner

What are we looking for?

This role of Site Manager is great for you if

-You have proven experience gained in a management role within a large construction environment

-You have a good technical understanding of the construction of buildings with specific understanding of delivering large internals packages

-You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively across a wide cross section of supply chain, internal and external stakeholders

-You have a strong focus on Health and Safety, with passion for ensuring safe delivery on site and the confidence to speak up to ensure protocols and best practice are followed

-You hold a relevant Construction Qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ) or Technical Trade, SMSTS 5 Day Certification, CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate and Full driving licence
