Boots • Edinburgh
About this role
We're shaking up the beauty scene at Boots, and our Senior Beauty Specialists are leading the charge. As a Senior Beauty Specialist at Edinburgh St James Centre – one of the top 3 Boots beauty stores in Scotland and proud winners of Beauty Team of the Year 2025 - you will bring the energy, the passion, and the know-how to coach a team of 12 Boots Beauty Specialists to create personalised experiences for every customer who visit our Beauty Halls.
It’s a busy, high-energy shopping centre location with great transport links and parking, and a brilliant place to build your career in beauty.
What you’ll be doing
This is a hands-on, people-first role where you’ll support and energise a team of 12 Beauty Specialists, working closely with another Senior Beauty Specialist so you’ve always got that extra support on the floor.
You’ll report into the Store Manager and be guided by an experienced Beauty Assistant Manager, especially during your induction – so you’ll feel supported from day one.
Right now, the biggest opportunity is building confidence across the team – helping them feel comfortable approaching customers, starting conversations, and creating those personalised, seated experiences that naturally lead to sales and loyalty.
This is a sales-based role, but it's all about team success, not individual competition. You'll energise your crew to meet shared goals and celebrate wins together - and with up to £2000 annual product allowance*, you'll get to personally test premium products.
You will
- Work across all premium and luxury brands, offering unbiased recommendations
- Lead by example, coaching and inspiring your team to bring fun, energy and passion to everything they do
- Drive collaboration across your team to meet sales targets, it’s a group effort (no commission pressure here!)
- Create standout experiences through confident customer conversations
- Bring new product and brand launches to life, creating buzz and excitement across the store
- Keep the beauty hall and counters stocked and spotless
- Attend brand training, immersive learning events and our famous virtual and in-person conferences
- Get involved in social content, events and campaigns
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
- A real passion for beauty, skincare, haircare and helping people feel their best
- Proven experience leading a team to success
- A warm, confident approach to starting conversations with customers
- Experience meeting and exceeding sales goals and influencing others to do the same
- Strong communication skills and an ability to understand people’s needs
- Curiosity and a proactive attitude to learning new techniques and products
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working in beauty retail or target-based roles
- An interest in creating social content
Where your brilliance can take you

Rewards designed for you
- Quarterly product allowance totalling up to £2000 per year* (*subject to number of hours worked per week.)
- Generous employee discount across Boots and our partner brands
- Ongoing expert training from leading beauty brands and experts
- Boots Retirement Savings Plan

- Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay, and a gift card for those expecting or adopting
