Staff Nurse - Maternity & Gynaecology (open to Newly Qualified Nurses)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 nurse with a keen interest in Women’s Health to join our dedicated team in the Urgent Gynae Care Centre on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a part-time opportunity offering a varied and rewarding role within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Urgent Gynae Care Centre includes

  • Early Pregnancy Clinic
  • Emergency Gynaecology Clinic
  • Gynaecology Outpatients
  • Gynaecology Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a wide range of acute and outpatient gynaecology services while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

The unit operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with staff working 11.5-hour shifts, providing flexible and varied working patterns.

This role is open to newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026

  • Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes.
  • Carries out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.

Provide support to the Patients attending the Urgent Gynae care Centre.

  • Triaging of referrals.
  • Working with and supporting other members of the team.
  • Counselling patients.
  • Assessment of patient needs.
  • Assisting in procedure clinics.
  • To provide nursing advice for women.
