Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Horley to recruit a Cover Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and looking to gain valuable experience within a specialist educational setting.
The school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, providing a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting students both academically and emotionally.
The Role
You will
- Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
- Deliver pre-set work across a range of subjects.
- Support students with a variety of SEN needs, helping them access learning successfully.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to support student progress.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, either in education, coaching, care, youth work, or a similar setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
- A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs.
- Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential.
