We have an exciting opportunity for a school cook/cleaner to join our team!

The school

Linton School is an independent special school who caters for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. We are located in Freckleton, near Preston and therefore benefit from some amazing outdoor space where we develop an extensive outdoor curriculum which includes farming, equestrian, horticulture and small animal care. The school provides full time education for up to 12 male or female students ages between 8 and 18 years old.

Cook

The ideal candidate will have passion and flair for food. As the school cook you will be required to manage the smooth running of the kitchen on a daily basis, ensuring lunches and dinners are produced to a high standard for students, some of which are on restrictive diets, staff and visitors. Managing the kitchen team, budget, stock control, menu planning, promoting health, safety and hygiene and attending and supporting training are all requisites of the post.

Cleaner

This job involves cleaning various parts of the property in order to maintain a clean, hygienic, safe and pleasant environment in which people can live and work.

As a Cleaner you will be responsible for helping to provide and maintain a safe, clean, positive environment for our students. You will be working as part of a team to ensure that the offices and communal areas are all cleaned to a high standard following the health and safety policies and requirements.

We pride ourselves on being an Equal Opportunities Employer and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care. All candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and reference checks.

We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
