We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead and develop our therapy team on the oncology ward at the Hampstead site as well as support the therapy team in medical specialties, including infectious diseases, respiratory and cardiology.
You would be required to provide clinical leadership to a team of Occupational Therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and therapy assistants. You will also be part of the leadership team for Occupational Therapy, developing the service in the trust.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. In particular you should have proven experience of leading teams and be willing to work in new and innovative ways. This is an exciting time to be joining the therapy team at the Royal Free, as we are developing new ways of working, especially in Occupational Therapy.

· As an autonomous practitioner, provides highly specialist OT interventions for own caseload of complex oncology and medical inpatients. This includes respiratory, cardiology, infectious diseases and oncology.
· To be responsible for the ongoing development of the non-surgical pre-optimisation pathway for therapy services.
· To provide clinical leadership to the complex medical and oncology inpatient team Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist and Dietitians for both inpatient and outpatient services.
· To be responsible for the safe, effective and timely provision of a therapy service to oncology and medical inpatients at The Royal Free Hospital.
· To have responsibility for the clinical supervision of senior occupational therapists working in the medical specialties at the Royal Free Hospital.
· To have responsibility for supporting clinical audit, research, and QI within therapy services and with our MDT colleagues.
· To implement best practice guidelines within the acute OT service (in own service and in collaboration with other OT Clinical Leads across all acute inpatient areas).
· To work collaboratively with all members of the MDT (internal and external partners), including medical, nursing, discharge and operational staff to support national and local NHS strategies impacting oncology and medical patients.
