What You Will Do

  • Wash and sanitise all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, equipment, and food service items, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all back-of-house areas, including floors, walls, bins, delivery areas, and storage spaces.
  • Assist with cleaning and organising fridges and freezers and ensure food storage areas remain safe and hygienic.
  • Crush and dispose of cardboard and packaging safely, keeping waste areas tidy and compliant with procedures.
  • Follow all health and safety, fire, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations, always using the correct chemicals.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and any equipment or chemical shortages promptly to the Chef or Supervisor

What You Bring

  • A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to keeping work environments clean, safe, and organised.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support colleagues and follow instructions efficiently.
  • The ability to work reliably under pressure while maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • A basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to work towards one)
  • An Enhanced DBS clearance is required and will be carried out.
  • A proactive and dependable approach, with a willingness to learn, develop skills, and help improve kitchen operations.
  • Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment, particularly in a school or similar setting, is desirable but not essential.

This role involves sole working. As a result of the role's health and safety risk assessment and safeguarding requirements, the minimum age for this position is 18.
