About the role and school

We are seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Newham from September. This SEMH Teaching Assistant role involves working within a specialist SEND provision supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The school has a strong inclusion team and clear behaviour support systems in place. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to support pupils' emotional regulation, engagement and progress.

This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is ideal for candidates with SEN or behaviour support experience looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

Support pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom

Provide 1

1 and small group intervention support

Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation

Support learning activities and engagement

Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff

Help maintain a positive and structured environment

Qualifications/Experience

· Experience supporting SEMH or SEN pupils desirable

· Strong behaviour support and communication skills

· Ability to build positive relationships with pupils

· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service (or willing to obtain)

· Right to work in the UK
