Key ResponsibilitiesClinical
Duties The Practice Nurse will
Provide holistic nursing care to patients within their scope of practice. Deliver childhood and adult immunisation programmes. Undertake cervical cytology screening. Carry out NHS Health Checks. Manage patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension. Perform wound care, dressings and leg ulcer management. Provide contraception and sexual health advice where appropriately trained. Administer medicines and vaccinations in accordance with PGDs and practice protocols. Conduct health promotion and lifestyle advice clinics. Undertake screening and preventative healthcare programmes. Assist in infection prevention and control activities. Provide support with minor surgery procedures where required. Recognise, assess and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Patient

Maintain NMC registration and professional standards. Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development. Keep up to date with current evidence-based practice and national guidelines. Work within practice policies, procedures and professional codes of conduct. Actively contribute to service development and innovation within the practice.
