An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Macmillan Bladder cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team Imperial College Healthcare.
As a Bladder Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert care and nursing advice, to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients and relatives/carers, in collaboration with the multi-Disciplinary team, in line with the local and national targets.
The post will involve offering specialist nursing input to patients with Bladder Cancer. Together with the established Uro-Oncology and multi-disciplinary team, the CNS will aim to deliver a world class patient experience.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of patients, working as a part of the multi-disciplinary Team. They will maintain effective communication with patients, families/carers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with relevant experience and post-registration education for working at an enhanced level within a specific area of practice. They assess, manage, deliver care, advise on, and support patients.
- CNSs have the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for their actions, acting as a skilled advisor for patients, or a resource for others.
- CNSs perform specialist holistic assessment and treatment using a personalised approach. This is characterised by a level of decision making based on detailed knowledge and understanding of their area of practice.
- As part of the multidisciplinary team CNSs can work in or across many settings, depending on their area of expertise and scope of practice.
