Housekeeping Operative

Buckinghamshire College Group is looking for a

Housekeeping Operative (Cleaner) to join our friendly and supportive housekeeping team at

our Amersham Campus. This is a part-time, permanent role working 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, ideal for someone seeking stable hours in a professional education environment.

The role is well suited to someone who enjoys working independently, managing their time effectively, and contributing to a safe and hygienic environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities include

• Dusting, damp wiping, polishing, and vacuuming
• Dry and wet mopping using colour-coded systems
• Cleaning toilets, showers, basins, walls, and glass
• Machine scrubbing, buffing, and spray cleaning
• Refuse removal and safe disposal
• Using cleaning equipment, materials, and eco-friendly products correctly and safely
• Following daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules
• Responding promptly to requests and reporting any issues or faulty equipment
• Adhering strictly to health & safety and manual handling procedures
• Working flexibly across college sites when required

The successful candidate will

• Have general cleaning experience within a commercial environment
• Promote and deliver outstanding customer service
• Ability to manage own time effectively
• Work flexibly across our sites, as and when needed.
• Awareness of Health and Safety regulations relating to the use of cleaning agents and Eco-friendly cleaning products
• Work alongside a friendly housekeeping team
