What skills and experience we're looking for
Working with the University of Chichester Academy Trust, Court Lane Junior School is a large, well established junior school in the northern part of Portsmouth. The school has strong community links, a friendly, purposeful atmosphere, and well-motivated children. We are committed to the continual development of all our staff.
We are looking for a Cover Supervisorto provide regular cover for teachers in class. Drawing on your experience, you will be expected to teach lively and engaging lessons from plans and respond appropriately to the needs of the pupils in line with Academy policy.
With experience of working with children, ideally in a primary age setting, you will have excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate with pupils and a wide range of people, including parents, carers and outside agencies. You will be resilient and hard working with the ability to work on your own initiative while understanding the need to work as part of a cohesive team.
Educated to GCSE C or equivalent and with a high standard of literacy and numeracy, you will have a good working knowledge of the primary national curriculum, ideally having experience of effective teaching to pre-determined plans and have developed skills to motivate and stimulate learning whilst ensuring appropriate pupil behaviour.
