A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Data Science and Technical Lead to work within our Data & Intelligence team in People Department at Enfield Council. Within this role you will lead linking various data sources in SQL, python, timely and accurate statutory returns submission, performance development, and analysis service within the People department services in children’s social care, education services, adult social care, community safety, public health intelligence, early help and youth justice service. You will be leading, developing, maintaining, testing and improving processes (defining data with services, understand service requirement, data extraction, analysis and reporting) to inform strategic direction of the People department and improve operational activity, ensuring timely and accurate production of management information and to meet statutory requirement. You will work in a

team include other statutory returns and report officers. You will be responsible to collate, manage and analyse data from various teams and services across the People directorate, as well as subsequent production of information reports for the purpose of service performance, statutory returns and the improvement of outcomes. The post is full time based in Enfield Civic Centre (hybrid working possible). We are also currently working on children social care transformation programme, and you will check quality of data, develop reports, generate insight to improve services and will submit statutory returns by working with services.

Data Science and Technical Lead will be responsible for producing wide range of reports using MS word, power point, Power BI and using wide range of analytical techniques such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Business Objects and informing areas for improvement, while communicating to a wide range of stakeholders. The role will ensure integrity of data and benchmarks our performance against national and regional peers. You will also work with children social care and education services to improve data quality in the Liquidlogic Children's Case Management and Access Synergy education systems and Adult Social care systems such as Eclipse and CareFirst and CVYJ system in Youth Justice service.

We are looking for an experienced candidate with health and social care systems, combined with the ability to communicate and influence people from a range of health and social care professionals and other stakeholders. They will have demonstrable experience in presenting reports for a variety of audience. Given the fast-paced and demanding environment, strong organisational skills are essential.

About You

You are aware of health and social care datasets. We are seeking candidates with advanced knowledge of MS Office and reporting programmes such as SQL, Business objects, Power BI and preferably python.

Interested candidates must understand confidentiality issues within a statutory service framework and have knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (and how this applies to client records and information sharing.

You will be a good communicator and have excellent inter-personal skills with experience of producing high quality performance and/or statistical data, submitting statutory returns timely and accurately and presenting information to a wide audience.

An excellent level of literacy and numeracy is required for this role. Candidates should have experience of using reporting tools such as Power BI, Business Objects or other similar packages.

You an excellent team member with good backend SQL, excel skills as well as report writing skills in Power BI and the role will require good skills in insight report writing in word documents.
