General Manager for Urgent Emergency Care Pathway (CYPS)

About this role

Leadership Provide expert knowledge and guidance based on research and audit to deliver and develop services that can meet the changing needs of CYP presenting complex clinical conditions/needs. Lead and role model and support the services to develop innovative, research and evidence-based practice to meet the varying needs of CYP&F. Provide expert knowledge regarding budgetary control and utilisation of funds to meet the needs of CYP while maintaining value for money. Provide highly specialist advice and consultation to the partner agencies in Surrey particularly with our Acute Hospital colleagues and social care, especially in situations where there are conflicting views or opinions on the best course of action or care e.g. ethical dilemmas, escalation calls. Provide specialist advice, consultancy, training and information to other professionals and agencies to ensure appropriate requests for support from the services. Provide advanced leadership skills to enhance the development and review of clinical pathways to meet national standards and guidelines. Provide leadership in clinical situations which are unfamiliar, highly complex and unpredictable holding the CYP&F at the center of the thinking. Lead on embedding the organisations vision and values and promote a culture of excellence within the service pathways and contribute to the wider Mindworks and Northeast Hampshire partnerships. Professionally lead, implement, and monitor standards of excellent practice aligned with professional registration values and requirements within services and promote continuous improvement, championing a multi-disciplinary approach to service delivery. This will involve close working relationships with Professional Leads across the CYPS Division. Leading and supporting teams to achieve contract expectations for performance, quality and efficiency. Utilising a performance/ data driven approach to leadership, management, quality and safety of services and use these to plan and develop services. Data sources will include Safeguarding information, Foundation Standards, workforce and Business Intelligence as well as data that supports mandatory aspects of service delivery. Participate in the early resolution and formal complaint processes for the Division Participate in the on call Managers rota Clinical Effective communication of highly complex information including risks and benefits and provide details of alternative options where appropriate to the Mindworks Partnership. Review the training plans regarding research and evidence-based interventions for people using our services and regularly monitor their effectiveness. Work closely with CYPS Training Needs Analysis Group regarding the plans to meet the training needs of staff and their development plans. Provide oversight in ensuring the teams maintain clinical records in line with Trust policy and NMC standards. Lead meetings with or about CYP&F to facilitate open communication and forward planning of care options, giving full regard to confidentiality Communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively to the Mindworks Partnership, including clear articulation of risks, benefits and feasible options, ensuring shared understanding and informed decisionmaking across multiagency partners. Oversee the development, delivery and monitoring of training plans relating to researchinformed and evidencebased interventions, ensuring effectiveness and alignment to service priorities. Work in close partnership with the CYPS Training Needs Analysis Group to ensure that staff training and development plans meet current and emerging workforce needs. Provide senior oversight to ensure clinical records are maintained to the highest standards, in accordance with Trust policy, legal requirements and relevant professional standards (e.g., NMC or equivalent regulatory bodies). Lead and chair meetings with or about CYP&F to support open communication, proactive forward planning and shared decisionmaking regarding care options, ensuring confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities are always upheld. Professional Report directly to the Head of Nursing, working in partnership to deliver agreed objectives, receive professional support and supervision, and progress your leadership and career development pathway. Maintain your own professional registration, ensuring that your practice meets relevant statutory, regulatory and professional standards at all times. Ensure full compliance with Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Adults and Child Protection legislation, policies and procedures, embedding them as core elements of all clinical and operational practice across CYPS. Provide senior oversight and signoff of DCIQs (DatixCloudIQ) submitted by UEC services, ensuring timely review, effective risk management, and highquality learning from incidents. Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of service interventions aligned to national policy and government priorities, including commitments within the NHS Long Term Plan and related systemwide initiatives. Participate in the PSIRF approach to lessons learnt and the embedding of these to practice within your portfolio
