Locum Consultant in Endometriosis | University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a one year-fixed term locum Consultant in Endometriosis (10 PAs).

The Endometriosis Centre is a BGSE-accredited tertiary service with a commitment to excellence in multidisciplinary clinical care, surgical innovation, and high-quality training.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual with experience of Endometriosis who wishes to join our well-established and dedicated multidisciplinary team. The Endometriosis team provides a supportive and sociable environment to work in. The successful applicant will be respectful of our commitment to maintaining this environment. Our working relationships provide the foundation upon which we deliver high-quality patient care to our patients.

The post holder will play a key role in delivering a responsive and patient centered care, supporting patients throughout their treatment journey while maintaining consistently high standards of care and patient experience.

Please note that the job plan included is subject to change depending on theatre and clinic space availabiltiy. The role will include Saturday operating.

As a tertiary referral unit, we provide care for patients complex endometriosis. The successful applicant will work within a long-established multidisciplinary team, including colleagues in urology and colorectal surgery.

The postholder will

  • Deliver consultant-led outpatient care in Endometriosis clinics
  • Deliver consultant-led surgical lists for Endometriosis patients
  • Provide assessment and outpatient management of patients with Endometriosis
  • Support clinical decision-making, care planning, and appropriate follow-up for patients.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to MDT discussions.
  • Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of resident doctors.
  • Engage in service governance and clinical audit activities.
  • Represent the department in internal and external meetings, contributing to service development, clinical guidelines, and best practice.
  • Work collaboratively across UCLH sites
