About this role

The appointee will be to provide medical support to the Haematology laboratory in the Blood Sciences Laboratory. Appropriate training and experience will be provided on pre/peri and posttransplant management of patients undergoing transplantation.

Specific responsibilities include

Reviewing and reporting blood films as requested by the biomedical scientists. Liaising with General Practitioners as appropriate to facilitate further timely investigation and review Performing and reporting bone marrow aspirates Reporting immunophenotyping under supervision, within the HMDS Reviewing patients in a weekly consultative clinic as per the applicants preferred interest (General Haematology or Thrombosis/Anticoagulation) Supporting existing trainees reviewing inpatient referrals for suspected underlying haematological conditions and advising on further haematological investigation. Supporting existing trainees providing haemostasis and thrombosis advice In addition, there will be an opportunity to participate in clinical trials activity.
