An opportunity exists to work in a successful and popular infant school for the next academic year. Learning Support Assistant - 19.5 hours per week over 3 days - 8.30 am - 3.30 am daily (half hour unpaid lunch) Term Time plus inset daysJOB OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Coombe Hill Infant School in Kingston upon Thames. We are a 3 form entry school with 270 children on roll. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic learning support assistant to join our friendly learning support team. Visitors to our school remark on the friendliness of the staff and the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of our children.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners

Providing general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the pupils and the classroom

Supporting the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment

Working with children to deliver excellent teaching and learning.

Working with children on a 1:1 or group basis.

Accompanying groups on trips.

Supporting assessment and evidencing learning

Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources

Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.

Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age

A strong commitment to safeguarding childrenA proven ability to work on their own initiative.A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.

The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.

A can-do attitude.
