Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner

About this role

The postholder will work as part of the Child and Young Peoples Neurodevelopmental Service, delivering high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments within a multidisciplinary community CAMHS setting.

Key duties and responsibilities include

Undertaking specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments, including administration and interpretation of ADOS assessments as part of the diagnostic pathway. Completing comprehensive ADHD and dual ASD/ADHD diagnostic assessments in line with national guidance, local pathways, and best practice standards. Gathering, analysing, and integrating clinical information from a range of sources to support diagnostic formulation and clinical decision-making. Producing high-quality diagnostic and post-diagnostic assessment reports within agreed timescales. Participating in triage processes and contributing to the management of referrals into the Neurodevelopmental Service. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues including medical staff, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals involved in assessment and care planning. Providing clinical supervision and support to the Assistant Psychologist, including oversight of developmental history assessments and report drafting. Maintaining accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in accordance with Trust policies, professional standards, and clinical governance requirements. Attending and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and service development initiatives. Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of neurodevelopmental pathways and service delivery.
