The Role & Responsibilities
The Licensing Team processes a vast array of licences ranging pubs, taxis, zoos, tattooists, animal activities etc.
We are looking for a Licensing Officer to ensure the council fulfils its duties in the administration of the licensing functions.
Duties include managing the licensing inbox and phone lines, dealing with complainants, inspecting licensed vehicles, monitoring compliance of licensed premises, monitoring renewals to ensure that all icences are issued in a timely fashion, collecting fees and they are correctly reconciled. The job also involves dealing with complainants to gather information, and attending court where necessary.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is experienced in working within a high pressured environment and able to make decisions and remain calm throughout. The successful applicant will be able to prioritise their workload and be flexible and able to adapt to changing service needs and priorities as they arise. It is important in this small team that the successful applicant works cooperatively and communicates effectively with others to support each other. Experience of dealing with difficult/confrontational situations is essential.

Significant experience in an Administrative role
Experience of dealing with members of the public in difficult/confrontational situations
