The Role – Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Maths department to support students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and engagement in Mathematics.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted 1
1 and small-group Maths intervention sessions
- Support classroom teachers during Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Help students develop confidence, problem-solving skills and numeracy understanding
- Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and resource creation
- Provide tailored support for students requiring additional academic guidance
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within lessons
- Gain exposure to teaching strategies, behaviour management and curriculum delivery
Ideal Candidate
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (2:1 or above preferred)
- Strong academic background and passion for education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine aspiration to become a Maths Teacher
- Previous tutoring, mentoring or school-based experience is desirable but not essential
- Resilient, proactive and enthusiastic attitude
