PA/Carer required to support a Friendly Young Adult with LD+ Autism in Bedford AA-BB-001

Job Description

We are seeking a caring, reliable, and committed Personal Assistant to support a young adult with learning disabilities to develop independence, develop daily living skills, and enjoy an active and fulfilling life within the community.

This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term support relationship.

The successful applicant will provide support both within the home and out in the community, encouraging independence, confidence, and social inclusion.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide support to attend a local gym in a safe and structured way. Encourage participation in social, leisure, and community activities.

Help build confidence and independence in community setting.

Ensure safety and wellbeing at all times during activities.

Support with developing and maintaining independent living skills, Assist with household tasks and daily chores, support with shopping, and cooking.

Promote self-help /independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.

Support communication through conversation with simple English.

Help plan and organise social activities with family, friends, and support networks.

Build a positive, consistent, and trusting working relationship.
