The Maternity Diabetes Clinic Failsafe Support Worker is responsible for providing comprehensive admin and clinical support to the maternity diabetes service. The role ensures the effective operation of failsafe systems to track and monitor pregnant women with pre-existing diabetes or gestational diabetes, ensuring that appointments, test results, and clinical reviews are completed in a timely manner. The role includes clinical expertise in phlebotomy.

The post holder will maintain accurate patient records, manage clinic bookings, and support communication between multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, diabetologists, midwives, and specialist nurses and dietitian. The role is essential in ensuring that no patient is lost to follow-up and that high-risk pregnancies are monitored in line with clinical guidelines, contributing to safe and high-quality patient care.
