The Role
Impact and Purpose
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, your main purpose is to support pupils with their learning and general wellbeing, ensuring every child can reach their full potential in a safe, caring environment. You won't just be assisting; you'll be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to shape positive outcomes.

Meaningful Contribution
You will be integral in establishing a positive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe, enjoy learning, and promote their independence.

Welfare and Behaviour Management
Your skills will be used to promote positive behaviour and concentration, requiring you to adapt your responses to any changes or escalations. This includes ensuring the highest standard of personal care and supporting personal needs when required (e.g., toileting, hygiene, dressing).

Safeguarding Responsibility
You will take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare and positive wellbeing of pupils according to school policies.
Your Skills and Experience
While education experience is advantageous, we value the commitment, initiative, and problem-solving skills you bring from your previous professional life.

Essential Experience
You must have previous experience (at least one year) of working within a relevant SEND Provision.

Required Skills
We are looking for candidates who are flexible, adaptable, and solution-focused. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is crucial, alongside good interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff and professionals.

Knowledge
A solid understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is required, along with experience managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including those that challenge.

Core Competencies
Good numeracy and literacy skills and competent ICT skills are expected.

We are committed to the professional development of our staff. You will be encouraged to engage in reflective practices, continuous professional development, and appraisal.

Development
You will be required to participate in regular training and other learning activities, as well as supervision and appraisal. If you do not yet have it, you must be willing to work towards a Level 2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools

You must be able to meet the demands of what can be physically challenging work at times.

Eligibility
Satisfactory Enhanced DBS with barred list checks and eligibility to work in the UK are mandatory.
