What skills and experience we're looking for

The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and highly motivated Deputy Head Teacher who will also undertake a class teaching commitment. This role would suit either an experienced senior leader or an exceptional teacher ready to take the next step into leadership, with the ability to make a significant contribution to the strategic development of the school, while continuing to model outstanding classroom practice.

Due to the leadership responsibilities of the role, this is a full-time position only. On this occasion, we are unable to consider applications from candidates seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities include

  • Supporting the leadership of teaching and learning across the school
  • Acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Leading areas of school improvement, including curriculum and assessment
  • Promoting high standards of achievement, behaviour and wellbeing
  • Undertaking a class teaching commitment • Leading curriculum subjects and supporting subject leaders
  • Working closely with the SENCo to ensure inclusive practice for all pupils

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with leadership experience or clear leadership potential, committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every child. They will be positive, reflective and professional, able to build strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents and governors, and will share our Christian values of inclusion, respect and aspiration.
