About me I am a young man and I have a neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia. It means that I am wheelchair bound and struggle with everyday activities such as washing, dressing, preparing meals and going to the toilet. I also have limited vocal ability however I am able to communicate and conversate well. I have full cognitive function.

18 hours initially, with the potential for additional hours in the future

Location Great Baddow, Chelmsford

DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

What you would be doing…

• Provide personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.

• Support to maintain independence and daily routines.

• Follow care plans, risk assessments and health and safety procedures.

• Assist with light domestic tasks where appropriate (e.g. tidying, laundry)

• Assisting with meals, hydration and medication support.

• Promote safe guarding, dignity, privacy and respect at all times.

• Maintaining clear communication with the PA, family and professionals.

The person I would like… I’m looking for a PA to assist me.

Support will include

everyday tasks, assisting with eating and drinking, giving of medication, exercise, and going out into the community and making sure all needs are met plus driving me to appointments.

this will be a 2-1 position as my needs have changed so looking for someone who works well in pairs.
